This is a great 45-60 minute walk that takes you across the local farmland and down into Mousehole. There are great views along the way and couple of Menhirs too. This can be tackled in the dark with a good torch and the light of the moon. Wellies are definitely recommended!
From Kymaurah take a left out of main entrance and then hop over the stile (marked with a trail sign) on your right hand side. Cross the fields and you will then find yourself on another quiet lane. Head downhill and look out for another stile on your right. Climb over this and then head into the small wooded area and cross the stream with stepping stones. You will soon exit from this, then you will need to pass through the farm, there are several 'kissing gates' (a good excuse!) and you will see the cows waiting to be milked. Continue across more fields and stiles and you will reach the main lane leading you into Mousehole!
This walk has it all! From stone circles to the stunning sea views from the coastal path. It's about 5.25 miles and you can start this right from the doorstep of your holiday cottage. The walk was recently featured in the Saturday Times.
A fantastic hike from your doorstep, down into Lamorna Cove and then beyond - To the Lighthouse! There are two routes - the slightly more challenging coastal path which does require some vaulting over rocks - or the less challenging inland route. For the inland route make your way to Lamorna Wink - then take the steep hill up towards Chygurno Garden (a great place to visit) - follow the path onwards from here.
If you take coastal path - take some coins with you to place at the foot of the cross. Both routes meet at Carn Barges which is a great lookout point. If you go a little further beyond the lighthouse, look out for the former residence of John Le Carre, Tregiffian Cottage.
